I took these photographs on a lazy Sunday drive with my dad. My dad taught me how to use cameras when I was you and supplied me with equipment and his cameras from the 70’s. I will never forget how his face lit up when I told him I was accepted to study photography in college.
We looked at the trees and the beach through the rain that was pouring down, the flooded marsh and the swans.
You could feel the cold in the air, the condensation in the car and the bleak sky closing in while the tide got higher and the flooding more severe.
We joked about not wanting to get out of the car and into the rain, so the photographs we took would all be from within the car.
My dad died three days later. Almost seven months have passed and I still haven’t been able to bring myself to take a photograph.
